Heading to Hawaii and purchased this as a precautiion for my Lumix DMC-TS2 waterproof camera. The product's picture would lead you to beleive it would support a 7.7 ounce point and shoot camera. Not so. Tested it in my hot tub and a 7.7 ounce weight sank as if nothing was attached. The maximum this strap will support is 3.8 ounces. I would think that most waterproof cameras check in at over 3.8 ounces so don't waste your money. By the way, this is in no way a "wrist strap". You can't srink the loop below a 4.25 inch diameter.

Bought this for my Kodak Playsport ZX3 waterproof camera. Going on vacation and am a little paranoid about dropping the camera to the bottom of the ocean. This float will support the ZX3 sufficiently, definitely bouyant enough, my only concern is the fragility of the quick-connect connector between the loop that connects to the camera and the float itself. The plastic doesn't seem all that sturdy, and the loop is pretty thin. I'm going to put it through some gorilla testing before I trust my camera to it. I will probably supplement/modify those parts before my trip for peace of mind. Overall, it's okay, will float a camera, so in a pool or shallow water it would be fine...but I don't think I'd trust it attached to my wrist while swimming around in deep water, I don't have confidence that the parts can take that degree of strain.

We got the floating wrist strap for a trip vacation to the Caribbean. The strap made it easier to snorkel with our underwater-camera. I checked it before starting out and it did float with the weight of our small camera. Loved the yellow color and was comfortable to wear. Would have been 5-star except that the strap is so big and cannot be made small enough for most wrists. Before we went, I sewed some elastic on it to make it smaller and then it fit better. Sewing the elastic was easy. To add to my confidence, I also added a second hook to attach the camera in 2 places, just in case. I recommend a strap like this for snorkeling.
