Another satisfying product from Pandigital. I have just found the perfect gift for my Mother. In the past I have purchased numerous items from the manufacturer Pandigital. Their quality, performance, and affordability have always exceeded my expectations. How perfect is this! Keep in mind that my mother is 87 and her vision is not what it used to be. With this 10.4 inch Digital Photo Frame she won't miss a detail. Simplistic in operation makes it easy to use and it uses a true photo 4.3 aspect ratio, just like a digital camera. No distoration, stretching or cutting off the photo. She will be able to view it perfectly, from wherever she is sitting. It also handles the broadest range of media functions. In the future, for her birthday, I can download a video of her grandchildren or even music that she would love to reminiscence on. Hands down, with all these attributes, this is definitely a gift that goes on giving! My mother is going to love it...........

Purchased this for my mom as a christmas gift and received it very fast. I tested and loaded some pictures from her birth day party. Nice and pictures are crystal clear. You even don't need to have a computer to load the pictures. Excellent product, I recommend.

Maybe I got a bad frame, but I'm not at all happy with this product. The majority of the pictures that we upload from our computer turn out corrupted. They are there in the frame memory, but they have lines and patchy errors when they show on the screen. It is very frustrating; we often have to load a picture multiple times. Even then, it seems like these file corruptions occur randomly. Not only that, but most of the pictures we upload end up with a copy on the frame that is in an "unrecognizable format". Plus the USB interface is frustratingly slow. For such a well established interface, you'd think they'd at least get that right. I got this for my parents for Christmas and my fiance and I have spent hours troubleshooting with very little to show for it. Overall, I am NOT happy with this product and would recommend against it to others.

I was able to get this model a little early, and was excited to try it out in - what better city to test a camera? - Paris. The last Sony snapshot camera I used was on a trip in 2007, and I was so dissatisfied with that camera that I sold it immediately after returning home. I was eager to see if Sony had improved their entry level cameras, especially the picture quality. I shall post some pictures to offer examples up in the product details, but these will be reduced in size for posting.
Photo quality: My initial day out indicated that they have made dramatic improvements in both quality and speed. Photos in daylight were crisp and clear in just about every shot, and any that weren't were only because I was shooting poorly on purpose to test the photos. I was also quite happy with the quality of shots in low light and indoors, which is where I noticed the most improvement over past Sony low-end offerings. There was some blurring in darker situations, of course, but for... Read more

With the prices of DSLRs and mirrorless compacts edging closer toward the 400 dollar mark, the market for compact digital cameras is not as profitable as it once was. Manufacturers struggle to find every possible way to reduce production cost to bring the retail prices of these little imagers as low as possible while maintaining their usability as an actual digital camera.
It would have been impossible to imagine a model like the DSC-W530, having a 14.1 sensor, usable high ISO sensitivities, 4x optical zoom with Carl-Zeiss optics to sell for anything less than 400 dollars just 5 years ago.
With compact digital cameras becoming obsolete as soon as they are released, Sony has attempted once again to maintain its position as a serious point-and-shoot maker since their Mavica days.
The W530, along with all of Sony's most recent W series, stands somewhere between Sony's entry level models and their somewhat advanced but expensive "luxury" models... Read more

The intelligent shooting mode is great--it detects different scene types (landscape, sunny, cloudy, etc.) and auto-adjusts the exposure settings to get the best picture. Picture quality is great. It also has a movie mode that takes nice videos. The mic for the audio is a little weak but it is only a point and shoot camera, so a so-so mic is to be expected. The panorama mode is very easy to use--just point and sweep while holding the shutter--and the camera automatically stitches everything together with no overlap or missed sections. I've used panorama mode at a baseball stadium and at a lake and got great detail in both settings.
The battery life could be a bit better, but it lasts for at least 8 hours of shooting. I was turning the camera off and on a lot, which had a bigger drain on the battery, I'm sure.
I first used a SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo with this camera, and the camera would not read the card properly. I even reformatted the memory card... Read more

This review is from: Panasonic HDC-TM900K 3 MOS 3D Compatible Camcorder with 32GB Internal Flash Memory (Black) (Camera)
As a TV Broadcast Engineer, I know when things are "right". In any design, there have to be compromises. All of these small cameras are compromises. I bought the TM-900 for one reason -it's 1000 line resolution in 1080P. You can't touch that for at least another $2K. What I was surprised about is that Panasonic went all-out trying to top the competition. Say, compared with a Canon M41 (comparable price range) the Panasonic has a FAR better viewfinder and LCD screen. The Canon doesn't have any focus ring and the TM's is superb and versatile. The controls for manual adjustment are light-years better on the Panasonic. The TM has Person identification, not just face ID. This one is amazing- the TM allows you to use the camera's inside processing chips while you edit with their editor- to hyper-speed the video conversion when making DVD's and Blu-Rays. That's progressive engineering. The TM also is just beautiful-looking while the Canon is... Read more

This review is from: Panasonic HDC-TM900K 3 MOS 3D Compatible Camcorder with 32GB Internal Flash Memory (Black) (Camera)
I've had this camera (TM900k) for about a week now, so here are my initial thoughts on it.
Things I don't like:
1. The LCD flips open very easily when holding the camera by the strap. Not a big deal, just have to remember to hold the camera differently. 2. There is no information in the user guide on how to get the camera to record in 1080/24p, or how that works. A search online doesn't reveal too much information either. 3. The lcd smudges easily, but image seems to show through clearly. 4. When in picture mode, the video record buttons should double as buttons for still images too. They don't. So to take a still you have to use the top button or enable shutter touch on the lcd. 5. The function slider switch at the top of the camera has video as the center option, this feels backwards. It should be video, image, and then preview. 6. If you're using a Mac, which I am, the high def formats have to be converted to use them in FCP... Read more

This review is from: Panasonic HDC-TM900K 3 MOS 3D Compatible Camcorder with 32GB Internal Flash Memory (Black) (Camera)
Video quality is outstanding. The image stabilization is fantastic. Low light performance is great. However, when it comes to audio quality, the camera picks up a lot of white noise AND on top of that there is a very noticable and irritating fan noise. There is an option to control microphone level (which could potentially reduce how much white noise and fan noise is picked up) but the option is not available when shooting in full auto mode.
Another irritation is the mechanical click that happens when you release the zoom wheel. The product manual actually tells you not to release the zoom wheel suddenly and guide it back into position to avoid picking up a clicking sound on the recording. I am a long time Panasonic fan but, sadly, I am returning this product and purchasing a Sony CX700V.
Update: I purchased a Sony CX700V for a few extra $$$. In my opinion Sony is overpriced and I am impressed (but not blown away by its video quality and image... Read more
